Teenage Girl Crucified Forcefully By her Boyfriend, ‘To Expel Demons’

By Karliah Eun

A true-to-life modern day case of Emily Rose happened in France sans the gleaming lights and camera lenses when a teenage girl was tortured in a divine mission to ‘save her soul from the devil’.

A 19 year-old French girl barely survived her week-long crucifixion-style exorcism conducted by, none other than her boyfriend, and three other church members.

The victim, named as Antoinette, was discovered by the police in a housing estate in Grigny in the southern Paris suburb. She was found bounded to a mattress in the position of Christ when he was crucified to the cross.

Reports said that the victim was tortured as her body showed signs of having been beaten. She was also dehydrated and in a state of shock after the incident. She later testified that her captors had kept her alive, by feeding her with miniscule portions of oil and water.

According to prosecutors, the victim’s former boyfriend Eric Deron, had delusions of being a modern-day prophet on a divine mission. He claimed that the exorcism was organized when Antoinette leapt on him while babbling in a language he couldn’t understand. He took this as a notion that his girlfriend was possessed by demons and he was just trying “to save her.”

The four alleged suspects, who denied the allegations, were members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and will be facing trial due to run until Friday. They also claimed that the victim agreed to the exorcism act.

Antoinette said that she met the members three years ago through the Seventh Day Adventists, a US-Based Protestant Church with millions of followers.

Meanwhile, the Church said that the members involved in the case have been expelled a year before the attack happened. In a statement, they stressed that this violent kind of exorcism is not justified in any of their teachings.
