Sex on-the-go

After a freak fire in 2011 reduced the cubbyholes trading in electronic goods inside a Crawford Market shopping plaza to ashes, Junaid has gone alfresco.

He sits on a stool by a chock-full street tinkering with mobile phones while three teenage staffers hover around him. A laptop receives favorable treatment; it sits at the center of the makeshift stall scattered with card readers. The imaginary wall of hostility he carefully builds over several seconds crashes when he realizes we are genuine customers. "This is not your regular movie...it will cost you Rs 250 for 4 GB," he mutters, dodging eye contact. Some bargaining later, he hurriedly transfers 200 short pornographic clips from the laptop on to a memory card for Rs 150. Most are the fall-out of cross-country MMS scandals, the flavor of the season. "Everyone does it, no one talks about it. A raid means we lose our equipment and pay a hefty fine," he says in staccato meter, handing us back the card. Seconds later, head down, he's back to reviving a dead smartphone.

The rates vary at a booth a few meters down. It's Rs 400 for 16GB - the same price as that for loading your phone with the latest Bollywood and Hollywood films - of a "collection" that includes foreign porn, and bestiality videos.

It's hardly a secret that several of the city's cell phone repair shops and SIM card kiosks that flaunt a computer, stock smut in secret folders marked by gibberish names. "We get some women, too," one owner says. "They say, "Zara woh waale movies daal dena." (Transfer that movie as well)

Which brings you to the rules of the mobile-porn-off-the-street universe.

A blunt demand for a blue film clip will send shopkeepers into a shell. Some may even express mock disgust at your request. Blame it on random raids by the State Anti-Piracy Cell. Around South Mumbai's markets, for instance, code words 'Daal gosht' or 'Pelampaal' put the Flashing-Loading-Repairing stall owners at ease. But for tongue-tied first-timers, body language is the marker. A local cell phone accessories distributor says, "The more desperate you look and sound, the easier it is for you to pass off as a bona fide purchaser. If you are well-dressed, they'll deny they stock it. There's no fixed rate. Sab grahak dekhke poodi baandhte hain (We see the customer and then sell package accordingly). Considering how it's a simple copy-paste job, it's free money anyway."

Regular customers frequently leave their phones with their trusted 'service' providers for loading apps, games, the latest films, and porn too. It's a package deal. "If you know how to ask for it, there's hardly a corner in Mumbai where you can't buy pocket porn," says a shopkeeper from Mulund.

In fact, pornography is not high on the authorities' agenda, says Vijay Mukhi, former member of the High Court/State Government Committee on Pornography and Cyber Laws. "Unless the Anti-Piracy Cell sends a dummy customer to lay a trap, it's near impossible to prosecute the shopkeepers because watching porn is not a crime; only producing, publishing or distributing it is," he clarifies.

Shafqat Usmani, President of the Mobile Dealers Welfare Association of Mumbai, says, the paltry 2.5 per cent margin on products makes the city's 50,000 mobile phone retailers render additional services, including repairing. Is loading porn part of the survival mechanism? "The low margin is no excuse to indulge in disgusting activities," he says.

Hand-held and hi-res

The cell phone boom - both, cheap Chinese models that allow the not-so-privileged access to technology and the arrival of high-res display screens that offer the affluent a viewing experience superior to television - has worked towards making porn consumption mainstream. Local train commuters will tell you of the passenger on the corner seat watching smutty clips, as if it were an impassive pastime. It's even found favor as a 'stress reliever'. "My friends and I buy phone porn to watch whenever the workload at office gets out of hand," says a Mankhurd resident.

While watching porn on laptops, either straight off the net or via DVDs, means you could get busted by family and friends, the handheld experience - with a phone password to boot - allows complete privacy.

What would you like?

Depending on which neighborhood market you access, the popular offering varies. In Kurla, says a cell phone mechanic, foreign porn has no takers. "They (customers) say everything happens too soon and easy. The demand is for morphed celebrity sex videos, South Indian porn and of course, MMS clips." Some of these are what the industry refers to as 'kaand' videos. They resemble MMS scandal clips but are staged. It's the lure of these grainy, sloppily shot videos that landed Karnataka BJP ministers Lakshman Savdi and CC Patil in a soup last February. The two were caught watching a clip during assembly. Amid a storm of criticism, they and Mangalore minister Krishna Palemar, who was accused of transferring the video to Savdi's phone, resigned.

On Ahmedabad's Relief Road, a row of kiosks that sport the 'Downloading' sign, like the one run by Karimmuddin, offer hi-definition (HD) foreign porn to affluent students who walk in with large-screen 3G phones demanding virus-free content. It's Rs 100 for 2GB worth of mp4 clips of 720p resolution, and Rs 50 for 2GB worth low-quality clips, says 21-year-old Moin. Smaller, dirt cheap deals are available too. A single HD clip at Rs 5.50, a low-res one for Rs 2, and the 'lightest' clip for Rs 0.21 paise.

"My customers are youngsters from middle and upper middle class families," says 30-year-old Rocky, a shop owner in Navrangpura, while catering to Vikas, a collegian waiting for a Rs 100 download. "We are a group of six friends, including girls. For Rs 100, I'm going away with more than 20 HD video clips," he says straight-faced, adding that his group of friends, girls included, get-together during the holidays for collective viewing. A relationship of trust between regulars like Vikas and shopkeepers means he will share a clip with the mobile store owner, in case he doesn't have it in stock.

It's a business of 100 per cent profits, they admit, and raids are easy to dodge since the police usually come looking for duplicate cell phones. They'd make half their monthly earnings if they relied on selling SIM cards, mobile accessories and software loading alone, says Ramesh, a 23-year-old staffer at a cell phone shop in Odhav that gets walk-ins from rickshawallahs and college students.

The rise of mobile porn has turned into a thorn in the flesh for pirated DVD sellers. Ajju, who runs a CD/DVD stand near Panchwati Crossroads, remembers a time when customers crowded him for 'tragda' or XXX CDs. "Older women would arrive in cars, roll down the window and ask for adult movies. I'd notice how they'd chuck the explicit cover and plonk the CD in an unsuspecting plastic bag." Mobile porn has hit his profits, bringing it down by 20 per cent.

Southward bound

Surprisingly, in Bengaluru, the erotic DVD trend is experiencing freak survival. Two years ago, the youth scoured Majestic and SP Road for downloaded porn. But with affordable mobile phone data plans and pirated DVD sellers ratting on their competitors, mobile repair shop owners have had to stick to doing just that - fiddle with hardware.

It's the tier II and III cities across India that are waking up to the potential of porn-on-phone. Earlier this year, Mysore-based moral awareness group Rescue conducted a survey across 964 junior college students from Mysore, Chamarajanagar and Bengaluru. More than 75 per cent watched porn regularly, and most watched six times more porn on their phones than on any other device, said the findings.

Mangalore, Belgaum, Dharwad and Mysore, all educational centres, support a thriving porn-lending library system. A student from Moodabidri says, "Most hostel students venture out to these shops once a week, and pay Rs 50 for a porn-loaded memory card. They return it a week later in exchange for fresh content."

Mangalore leads the pack in the sleaze game. It's believed that the clip that got the Karnataka ministers into trouble was called Fasila, and was a hit in Mangalore and neighbouring Kasargod two years ago. Six years ago, a seven-minute MMS sex clip was converted into a half-hour CD named Mangalooru Mungaru Male and sold widely. In 2000, before mobiles became the rage they are now, sex CDs flew off the shelves. The famous 40-minute clip, Mysore Mallige (known as MM CD) that featured a girl from Puttur, was sold for as much as Rs 1,000.

A mobile accessories shop owner in Puttur says the porn viewing audience has grown to include blue collar workers, who aren't tech-savvy to figure their own Internet downloads. "All they want is clarity of clips,' he says.

Watch, don't act

His customers then, are not very different from 22-year-old Manoj Sah and his 19-year-old companion Pradeep Kumar, who admitted to investigators probing the rape of a five-year-old girl in East Delhi last month, that they were drinking and watching porn on their mobile phone before they lured the girl into Sah's house with a chocolate.

While the nation erupted in protest, the confession drew attention to the possible fallout of easy access to pornographic content. The Delhi case isn't isolated. In January, Mumbai cringed when 70-year-old Niyaz Raza was arrested in the Govandi rape case involving a 13-year-old girl. His SIM was found loaded with sex clips, including one where he had filmed the girl performing oral sex on him.

Last month, Indore advocate Kamlesh Vaswani filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court seeking a change in Internet laws that would make watching pornography a nonbailable offence. It estimates that the number of such clips accessible to Indians is more than 200 million. The petition states: "The sexual content that kids are accessing today is far more graphic, violent, brutal, deviant, and destructive (than before), and has put the entire society in danger." It also finds the increasing "severity and gravity" of these visuals a concern, and accuses accessible pornography of "fuelling" most of the offences committed against women and children.

So, more than porn, it's the exposure of a larger audience to its extreme forms - bondage, bestiality, even paedophila - that's spurred a debate. To sum up the sentiment in the words of award-winning writer Robin Morgan: "Pornography is the theory, rape is the practice."

There are enough and more voices refuting Vaswani's claim. Pranesh Prakash is one of them. The policy director with Bengaluru-based Centre for Internet and Society, says, "There is no data to establish a direct co-relation between porn and sexual crimes. To be alarmed over the widespread availability of porn through mobile phone loading alone is a classist reaction; those who are well-to-do have had easy digital access anyway."

Way before those accused of rape were introduced to porn, they were exposed to a culture of misogyny that says women must be controlled, and their bodies are free to loot.

Wife Swapping

History of Wife Swapping

Today what we called "a swinger lifestyle" was previously known as "wife swapping". This term is use to describe a form of recreational social and sexual intercourse between consenting adults. Swingers commonly consisting of male/female couples meeting with other male/female couples for sex and ongoing intimacy. It is simply being open about you sexual feelings and being adventurous about it.

Wife swapping probably began since the dawn of time. From our history records at museums and in libraries we can find some sort of written documents from the ancient Rome and its' orgies. Those orgies they have was probably what we call today as "swinging parties".

It was first report during World War II (1941-1944) that wife swapping activity was known, especially among the US air force pilots. Those men were wealthy enough to move their wives close to the base. In those days nobody knew will there be a tomorrow and the fact that their fatality rate was extremely high against any other branch of service led to and unusual social scene where non-monogamy between these pilots' wives and other pilots became satisfactory. Before military actions they would organize parties with their colleagues and their wives to say good bye. In these parties colleagues will promise if anything happens to them that they will take care of their families, including the sexual needs of their wives. These arrangements persisted near the air force bases throughout World War II and well into the Korean War. By the time the Korean War has ended, these wife swapping groups had spread from bases to the nearby suburbs. By then there were also "key clubs". This is where husbands reportedly tossed their house keys into the pile in the center of the room where they were to draw at random by their wives. The owner of a selected key was the sexual partner for that evening.

It was until not until the early 1950's that the media first reported these activities in the US and in the military and named it "wife swapping". The very first public decision of wife swapping was published in a magazine in the late 1957. This magazine was published in New York. It was an article issue of men's magazine called "Mr.". The magazine carried a short article with "semi-nude photos of bosomy female models" and this is when the team wife swapping emerged. The editor of "Mr." claimed it was an article that sparked off the epidemic of much similar articles across other magazines. "Mr." followed up with the original article with a correspondence section. By surprise many unforeseen aspects of the phenomenon emerged from reader's responses. The included such information of sex clubs especially devoted to trios, foursomes, or even large groups. It did not take long for "Mr." to see the opportunity to carry advertisements from people trying to contact other couples with a view to wife swapping.

Over the next couple of years, a large variety of national and local magazines were catering to those in needs of wife swapping. During that time the prime way to meet other wife swappers was through personal ads. These publication offered column after column of such ads. Many of these ads had illustration nude and revealing photos of couples and hopeful singles.

Rule of Wife Swapping

Wife swapping has no set rules. It is entirely up to you and your partner to decide the boundaries and limitations. Being in wife swapping, couples need not to be married. They should at least have some history of being together and familiar with each others' needs and emotions. Here are some general rules if you are considering entering into wife swapping:
  • Good Communication - This is very critical due to the fact that you and your partner should be able to discuss each other needs and wants in a manner that it is the most comfortable with. If you are not happy about a situation you and your partner should be clear about it and why.
  • Confidence and Comfort - Sex is a very powerful part of human experience and is where pleasure is often found. Wife swapping can only be reached if you and your partner have each others' confidence and comfort first. It might be worth thinking about whether there are any potential situations that you feel you would be more or less comfortable in and then discuss these with your partner.
  • Trust, Sensitivity and Respect - Together as couple, trust and respect of each others view is very important especially if you are going to enter into wife swapping. Realistically, there will always be another partner, another personal ad, another dance, or another convention, but there may not be another chance to save an exploration into wife swapping if one of the partners becomes overwhelmed with it and forgets to treat his or her primary partner with sensitively and respect.
The general rule of thumb is that wife swapping works best only when couples view wife swapping as an enhancement to their existing sexual relationship, rather than to replace a fail one. Wife swapping is only a primarily social event. The normal social customs of greeting people and initiating a conversation are really not that different than at any other social interaction. The key social behaviors that tend to be appreciated among the wife swapping community are responsibility, friendliness, flirtatiousness, open-mindedness, and most importantly stability with regards to one's primary relationship. The pros and cons of whether or not you and your mate are compatible with the swinging lifestyle or even interested in it are many. Whatever you do, be sure that both of you are committed to it before ever trying it out

View on Wife Swapping

In the 60's sex was wide open for youths between the age 15 thru to 25. Sex was something fun, easy and could be experimented with. A percentage older generations over their 40's had a problem in that as they were supposed to set a good example of what sex really meant. Sex was only for married couples. When couples got married they were supposed to settle down and be sensible and raise a family, but some folks in that generation decided that sex was fun and can be experimented with other married couples. So they started to participate in wife swapping. Wife swapping began with a little touching and kissing, and later advanced to petting and sex. Through to the end of the 60's and early 70's wife swapping was for one or two couples having sex between that small groups. Later the groups grew in size. Younger couples in their 30's also began to enter the wife swapping scene. Wife swapping soon changes rapidly into threesomes and then singles with married couples. As social attitudes changed and grew gays, lesbian and bi-sexual couples emerged. In the late 80's and throughout the 90's wife swapping clubs and organizations sprang out everywhere. Men and women began to like the swapping scene and term swapping was soon replaced by "Swinging".

You can view human like any other humans on this planet. They are not put together to be in a monogamous relationship. Humans are given the power of sex primarily for the multiplication of the human species. In today's society we have more needs for delayed in marriage and have children. We no longer need to pass the family name on. Hence, sex does not equate to have children and starting up a family. Sex is view as a way to explore our sexuality and our needs of satisfaction. Due to the changes in the society's views men and women have decided to break this tradition and to satisfy themselves sexually. We as human are poly-sexual and this is how wife swapping came about.

It is said the wife swapping is not for everyone. This may be very true because some of us are unable to go beyond our emotions and needs of our sexual preferences. They cannot deny their own sexual preferences as it is again the God. Lastly, we come to jealousy. Jealousy is not an emotion it is a fear that we experience. We all have some sort of fear. They may include fear of inadequacy, fear of loosing and fear of not getting their shares and possession.

Wife swapping is forever growing. In this aspect, we are also growing in a way of learning about ourselves and others. We have all learnt wife swapping requires a open mind, good communications which will promote good family relationship as well as the ability to work and get along with others.

Wife Swapping Christian

Under a religious point of view wife swapping is not alright. It is a sin. Wife swapping is a distorted practice where married couples get together and exchange wives with whom to go and have a sexual relationship with. The bible says that marriage should be honored by both parties meaning to remain faithful to each other at all times as per the oath you both have taken on you wedding day. It is also said that the marriage bed should be kept pure for the God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral (Heb 13:4). In the scripture it does not say what husbands and wives are or are not allowed to do sexually. It does say that husbands and wives are not to "Do not leave without each others except by mutual consent and for a time (1 Cor 7:5a). This phase may have laid down the principle for sexual relations among marry couples. Whatever needs to be done or to do should require mutual agreed. No one should be persuaded or force into doing something they are uncomfortable or against there will. If a marry couples have both agree to try something new such as a new sexual position or oral sex and etc. then the bible does not prohibit you from doing such things.

The Bible does not allow the practice of wife swapping. Wife swapping is considered as adultery. This is considered sinful and forbidden in the scripture. This is regardless whether your partner approves or allows it. All pornography that is appealing to the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes are also prohibited and condemned by the God.

Wife Swapping Clubs

Wife swapping clubs first started as informal gatherings at members' homes or at the homes of the leaders of the clubs. These clubs were informal in nature and membership was generally through recommendations of other members.

The first to be open wife swapping clubs was in California in the 1960's. This club was open to the public who want to become members. The club held regular wife swapping parties for its members to go along with other social and political activities. The trend was soon to follow by Canada also open its' first wife swapping club in Toronto. Up to now the club has many members and it is still very popular with the activities they hold.

The wife swapping clubs are only a meeting place for members. The activities of the swapping clubs were and still generally a dancing club. Swapping was a private matter and any arrangements and engagements were strictly up to the member couples attending the dances. Usually, sexual activities are held privately at member's homes or rented motel/hotel rooms.

Although wife swapping clubs and magazines had helped with promoting the growth, the real strength behind wife swapping are among the individual men and women who adopted wife swapping as part of their lifestyle.

Today wife swapping clubs are all over the world. The can be found in most parts of United States, populous areas of Canada, parts of England, France, Germany and Japan. The actual numbers of wife swapping couples and individuals are not known, but all we know it is substantial and growing fast. Wife swapping is not as conservative as it used to be. These day is has become more open through media reports, magazines, newspaper and TV programs. The internet is also fast growing and really popular for wife swapping couples and individuals to met one another. The internet has allows wife swapping couples and individuals to place personal ads for instant communication. Wife swapping has come a long way since World War II. Today more and more new couples and individual have join in wife swapping to start to explore their sexuality and sensuality in new ways.

Rohypnol - The Date Rape Drug

Rohypnol is a fast acting drug, as it only takes thirty minutes to start to work. While it can last up to 18 hours.

Confusion, dizziness, lace of judgment, and drowsiness is just some of rohypnol's effect to the body. Because drowsiness is one of rohypnol's effects is was once prescribed as sleeping pills, and still are in certain countries. When rohypnol is mixed in with alcohol there is a higher risk of overdose, difficulty breathing, or even death. Rohypnol can also cause amnesia to the user. That's why it is called "the forget drug". Amnesia is when you can't remember your last events or sometimes even what your name is. Like a memory lost. Also seizures may occur for 1-2 weeks while your not on the drug

Rohypnol is also a very addictive drug, that's why people may use it. Also rohypnol makes you embrace your fears so if you were for example scared to jump of a cliff you might fell like doing that well the drug is in affect. So not only can rohypnol's effects be negative but you could get hurt or maybe even be killed while your on the drug. Also rohypnol interferes with your receptors on neurons which the neurotransmitter uses, also known as GABA. This action will than lower your brain activity making you less aware of your actions.

Effects of Rohypnol
Rohypnol is a potent sedative. The physical effects of the drug may be noticeable within twenty to thirty minutes after ingestion. The effects may last for many hours.
Rohypnol may cause drowsiness, confusion, impaired motor skills, dizziness, isorientation, disinhibition, impaired judgment, and reduced levels of consciousness. You may look and act like someone who is drunk. Your speech may be slurred, and you may have difficulty standing or walking. Or, you may be rendered completely unconscious.
It is very dangerous to mix Rohypnol with alcohol or other drugs. The combination can produce extremely low blood pressure, respiratory depression, difficulty breathing, coma, or even death.
One of the most disturbing effects of Rohypnol is that it can cause complete or partial "anterograde" amnesia (absence of memory for the events that occur after it is ingested). This means that you may not be able to remember what was done to you while you were under the influence of the drug, which may have been for a significant period of time. This "amnestic" effect is especially likely when Rohypnol is ingested with alcohol.

What Rohypnol looks like
Rohypnol is most commonly found in tablet form. It may be a small, round, white pill. When slipped into a drink, the pill dissolves and becomes invisible. Or, it may be oval-shaped and green-gray in color. These pills may have a dye in them that can make them more visible in certain drinks. But, you may not be able to see the color in a dark drink (coke or dark beer) or in a dark room.
Rohypnol is usually smuggled into this country in its original packaging &em; foil backed, clear plastic "bubble packs." The pills may be ground up or crushed into a powder. Rohypnol can also be found in liquid form.

How Rohypnol is abused
Across the country, there are reports of people "dosing" other people without their knowledge by dropping whole or crushed Rohypnol tablets into their drinks. When Rohypnol is dissolved in a drink, you usually can't see it, smell it, or taste it. Therefore, if you are "dosed," you probably won't know that you're being drugged. Soft drinks, punch, beer, or other alcoholic beverages can all provide the disguise.

Rohypnol® (flunitrazepam) is the brand name of a sleeping pill prescribed for insomnia in Mexico, South America, Europe and Asia. It has NOT been approved for use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in the United States but this has not stopped its distribution. Rohypnol belongs to the family of medications called benzodiazepines which includes Valium®, Librium®, and Xanax®.

Rohypnol is being called the "Date Rape Drug" or the "Quaalude of the '90s" because it is the newest drug to be abused by adding it to alcohol. When combined with alcohol, marijuana, cocaine or other drugs, it can provide a rapid and dramatic "high." Even if used by itself, Rohypnol's effects are very similar to intoxication.

Street names for Rohypnol include: Roofies, Roche, Rope, Ruffies, R-2, Roaches, Rib, Forget-me Pill, and Mexican Valium.

What effects does it have on the body?
Rohypnol has been prescribed as an effective sleeping pill and is also used as a sedative and preanesthetic medication in some countries. Rohypnol is tasteless and odorless, and it dissolves easily in carbonated beverages. Rohypnol is usually taken orally, although there are reports that it can be ground up and snorted. The effects of flunitrazepam are fairly long-acting. The sedative and toxic effects of Rohypnol are aggravated by concurrent use of alcohol. The drug’s effects begin within 30 minutes, peak within 2 hours, and may persist for up to 8 hours or more, depending upon the dosage. A single dose of Rohypnol, as small as 1 mg., can produce effects for 8-12 hours after ingestion. When combined with alcohol or other drugs, Rohypnol can impair judgment and motor skills and cause memory loss or blackouts (lasting 8 to 24 hours after ingestion). Loss of inhibition can also occur, with or without alcohol. A person under the influence of Rohypnol can appear to be drunk, display no coordination, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Sedation can occur as soon as 20 minutes after ingestion. The drug's effects will peak within 2 hours and may persist for up to 8 hours or more, depending on the dosage. Other adverse effects associated with flunitrazepam include visual disturbances, drowsiness, confusion, decreased blood pressure, memory impairment, gastrointestinal disturbances and urinary retention. When mixed with alcohol, Rohypnol may cause respiratory depression, aspiration or even death. Although classified as a depressant, Rohypnol can rarely induce excitability or aggressive behavior. The drug can cause profound "anterograde amnesia"; that is, individuals may not remember events they experienced while under the effects of the drug. This may be why one of the street names for Rohypnol is "the forget-me pill."

Reports of abuse on many college campuses include stories of women waking up naked in unfamiliar surroundings with no memory of the preceding hours. They may have been sexually assaulted without any memory of what took place. It is important to note that sexual assault or abuse of Rohypnol is not gender biased. Although most cases are reported by females, this drug has the same effect on males. Both males and females have the right to seek treatment after sexual assault and/or suspected Rohypnol abuse.

What does Rohypnol look like?
This drug is shipped in bubble packaging or blister packs that appear very similar to aspirin. They are typically white in color, although counterfeit products have appeared in brownish-pink tint. Rohypnol tablets are single or cross-scored on one side with "ROCHE" and "1" or "2" encircled on the other. When dissolved in alcohol, soft drinks, water or any other liquid the drug is colorless, odorless and tasteless (although some report that it has a slightly bitter taste when mixed with alcohol).

Is there a drug test for Rohypnol?
YES. A urine test can detect the presence of Rohypnol up to 60 hours after ingestion. Rohypnol can be more difficult to detect than similar drugs because it is in low concentrations and is cleared quickly by the body.

Are there other drugs that are being abused like Rohypnol?
YES. People have been "spiking" drinks for decades with legal or illegal substances. Although Rohypnol is getting the most recent attention, reports of GHB (Gamma Hydroxy Butyrate) have also been increasing. GHB is found naturally in the body but the synthetic product created in the 1980's was purchased by body builders (over-the-counter) as an anabolic steroid alternative. When combined with alcohol it results in a reaction similar to Rohypnol. GHB is not approved for use in the US and has been banned from over-the-counter sales by the FDA. It continues to be available in the underground market.

How can I lower my risk?
  • Watch your drink.
  • Watch out for each other
  • Avoid punch bowls.
  • Open your own bottle or container - don't accept opened drinks.
  • Tell others about Rohypnol. Awareness is a major factor in this or any other kinds of abuse.
  • Remember that Rohypnol is odorless, colorless and tasteless and can be added to ANY drink - even water.
If you suspect you or a friend may have ingested Rohypnol, be sure to get tested at the hospital Emergency Room. The drug is detectable for up to 60 hours but cases should and can be reported at any time.

Report any suspected abuse of Rohypnol to proper legal authorities in order to protect yourself and others from harm. It is a federal offense to administer any controlled substance to any person without his/her knowledge, with the intent of committing a violent crime.
